IN THE COLORS OF CHAPTER 13

The cold chapter 10

At the begging the old man touched Jonas back he went in the past and it was snowing and a sled was next to him and he go on it rode down it.  then Jonas woke up the old man and Jonas talked then Jonas went to another back in time and felt pain a "sunburn".  then it was time to got Jonas asked if i`m the receiver then what does that make you".  The old man responded with "call me the giver"  And Jonas asked why don't we have hills and snow".  "The giver said because it was difficult to have crops and hard to trans port."  I think its kinda sad because they don't get to experience snow and having a lot of fun going down a hill.  Also Jonas is lucky I have never felt snow or seen it and ever gone down a hill with snow.  Today I have no questions.

things to see things to touch in chapter 10

okay the sentence summary is Jonas went to the building went in side the door was locked he wandered why it was locked. then he met the old man and the old man asked him if Jonas knew what snow was or if he knew what a sled was and if he ever saw a down hill or heard of one.  My reaction to that is wow how does Jonas not know what a sled is or snow they should at least know what it is in books.  My question is why don't they know what downhill or is there any mountains there cause to me there isn't any.

end of different chapter 8

well the summary of giver chapter 8 is that people are treating Jonas different and he does not like it and his mother tells him that it is a honor to have that job and his rules he was worried on number 8 you may lie.  my reaction to it was number 3 you may ask any question of any citizen and you will receive an answer i thought that would be nice i could ask any question like ask Fiona if she likes Jonas or ask what happen to the girl that they said was a mistake.  also if someone was mean and stupid and somehow got all of these rules that you may or not obey.   my question is for number 7 what if the job is too much for him he cant take it some how.

end of amazing chapter 6.

Well in the begging of chapter 6 today is the ceremony and lily(Jonas sister) is saying i don't like the ribbon and today is when Jonas becomes a adult at 12 and then he gets his job.  so through the whole chapter its just abut the ceremony people are becoming 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 or 11 and turning 12. Lily is turning to a 8 and she gets a jacket and gets pockets in them then Asher and Jonas are talking about a kid who tried to leave and go to a community but he didn`t know how to swim well so no one saw him again.  Then Jonas said it was true and then he talked about a kid that his mo knew that changed community one day he is here and then hes gone then its almost there turn.  Honestly i think there killing the people that want to change cause they might think that there not perfect.  I kinda like the idea that everybody gets the same things at the same time if someone goes to some elses house they wont think there house is better they learned how to ride a bike first or they have this etc.  Also the people that have better stuff wont be greedy and make other people be jealous.

end of the love and old chapter 5

so far in chapter 5 Jonas likes this girl named Fiona and he is volunteering at and old apartments and they had a celebration about something so the schedule changed a bit so they ask him to go to wash an old lady and Asher and Fiona.  A lady came and Jonas put her in the tub and took off her towel and he turned on the water and he said it would turn off by its self.  he asked if she was comfortable etc. so yeah then he learned her history about being a birthmother and then she worked in a food production for years, until she came to the old apartments.  then she talked more he laughed etc.  my thoughts about this is that bathing a naked lady and i wouldn't mind if it was a woman. but a man or a kid i would think that is inopportune.  and a tub that fills its self.  that WOULD BE NICE. also get to learn about someones history.  and i wonder how crazy Jonas is for Fiona?

my thoughts reaction and summary on thew giver finish chapter 2

OK so the summary is about well Jonas sister and having this emotion thing.  lily is talking about this other class that visited her school and this kid cuted in front of her and everybody else and she made a fist.  parents talk about how that boy might have felt and that he might not have the same rules where he lives then the fathers turn was about a kid that might have to be sent free which i`m guessing is bad. then the mothers turn about a man who also might get in big trouble and that she feels sorry about him.  then it was Jonas turn he was scared to become a "12"  and every body's birthday was in December and yeah his parents talk to him and how its not scary and Jonas had a flash back when he got his sister lily and how everything works etc.   also when you turn 12 you become an adult and this is making Jonas really worried etc.  now time for reaction.  at the end of chapter 2 i was feeling wow now i think you are making him feel more worried than he already is also starting at 12 well i would start at 16 to make sure i`m ready like i would think i`m not ready at all.  but besides that you don`t even get your own child its like taking everything you know like friends family grandparents and be sent to some strangers house like in a way i like it since some people aren`t fit to be called parents but besides that i think this society so far that i have read seems to be working well.  im just waiting for the bad cost that comes with i think utopia so far.

historical utopia

A historical

A historical is the The Rappites: The Harmony Society, also called the Rappites, were similar to the Shakers in certain beliefs. Named after their founder, Johann Georg Rapp, the Rappites immigrated from Württemburg, Germany, to the United States in 1803, seeking religious freedom. Establishing a colony in Butler County, Pennsylvania, called Harmony, the Rappites held that the Bible was humanity's sole authority. They also advanced celibacy and lead a communal life without individual possessions, and believed that the harmony of male and female elements in humanity would be reestablished by their efforts. Under the guidance of Frederick Rapp, George Rapp's adopted son, the economy of Harmony grew from one of subsistence agriculture to gradual diversified manufacturing. By 1814 the Society boasted 700 members, a town of about 130 brick, frame, and log houses, and numerous factories and processing plants. Their manufactured products, particularly textiles and woolens, gained a widespread reputation for excellence, as did their wines and whisky. The Harmony Society soon outgrew its markets, and after selling all their holdings to a Mennonite group for $100,000 they moved to a new location on the Wabash River in Indiana. Here again they built a prosperous community, New Harmony (now a National Historic Landmark), only to sell it to Robert Owen, a social reformer from New Lanark, Scotland, and his financial partner, William Maclure, in 1825. The Harmonists next returned to Pennsylvania and built their final home at Economy (now called Old Economy and recognized as a National Historic Landmark), in Ambridge on the Ohio River.

Why I wouldn't like to live in a utopia

I wouldn't like to live in a utopia because there won't be much real survivor.  Nothing really new.  Everything will be like yesterday.  A utopia is perfect but in a way it's not perfect there`s always a bad thing with a utopia for example Atlantis it sank to the bottom of the ocean. Everybody would be the same.  Everything would be too easy.  Like I know if there is an easy way someone will take it and I know that as a fact.  Like I know utopia is perfect but I like some damage like the other day in a book I'm reading people are living longer and there won't be enough room and soon start killing people cause there isn't much room.  Also there has to be some damage in life like earth quakes let's say it's a beautiful day then bad things happen and people don't know what to about it.  I could be wrong but yeah

Atlantis a fictional utopia

Atlantis is a fictional utopia of course if you don't know what a fictional utopia is let me tell you fictional means not real utopia means perfect for example there is always enough food, no fights or crimes, etc.   First mentioned by Plato, Atlantis was supposedly a legendary island-city, a naval power which conquered much of Western Europe and Africa in 9600 BC. Ever since this account, explorers, scholars, and historians have tried to pinpoint its location. Its featuring in fictional stories and folklore is pretty much unparalleled.  Honestly I wouldn't like to live in a utopia because everyday would be the same nothing would be new for example  no such thing as worrying no real survival no fighting exciting.
